MPO/MTP fiber assemblies are the backbone of modern high-density data center interconnects. By packing 8, 12, or 24 fibers into a single push-pull connector, MPO/MTP technology dramatically reduces cabling volume and accelerates deployment of 40G, 100G, and 400G links. TTI Fiber manufactures a complete portfolio — from the standard MPO patch cord to complex trunk cables, breakout fan-out assemblies, and conversion cassettes to meet every data center architecture requirement.
Our MPO/MTP patch cords are available in single-mode OS2 and multimode OM3, OM4, and OM5 fiber types. Trunk cables come in standard lengths from 1 m to 100 m with 12-fiber or 24-fiber MPO connectors. Breakout assemblies fan out from a single MPO connector to 8 or 12 individual LC or SC duplex connectors, enabling seamless integration with standard transceiver ports. Our MPO cassette modules snap into standard LGX patch panels for rapid, tool-free deployment.

MPO (Multi-fiber Push On) is the generic standard defined by IEC 61754-7. MTP is a high-performance brand of MPO connector manufactured by US Conec with tighter tolerances, removable housing, and enhanced spring mechanisms. MTP connectors are fully intermateable with standard MPO connectors.
12-fiber MPO is the most common and supports 40G SR4 (using 8 of 12 fibers) and 100G SR4. 24-fiber MPO supports 100G SR10 and emerging 400G applications. Choose based on your transceiver type and future migration plans.
TIA-568 defines three methods: Type A (straight key-up to key-down), Type B (key-up to key-up, most common for 40G/100G SR4), and Type C (pairs reversed). Most data centers standardize on one method — check your transceiver and patch panel documentation.

Our standard MPO connectors achieve typical insertion loss of ≤ 0.35 dB (random mating) and ≤ 0.15 dB (paired mating). Elite/low-loss MPO connectors achieve ≤ 0.25 dB random mating for demanding 400G applications.
