Fiber Optic SplitterSignal Distribution
PLC and FBT splitters from 1×2 to 1×64 — GPON/EPON compatible, multiple package options.

Overview
A fiber optic splitter divides a single optical input into multiple outputs — or combines multiple inputs into one — without any electrical power. It is the key passive component in every PON (Passive Optical Network) deployment, enabling one OLT port to serve dozens of subscribers. TTI Fiber supplies both PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) and FBT (Fused Biconical Taper) splitters to match every network topology, budget, and split-ratio requirement.
Our PLC splitters use semiconductor-grade silica waveguide technology for uniform splitting across the full 1260–1650 nm wavelength window, compatible with GPON, EPON, XGS-PON, and 10G-EPON. Split ratios range from 1×2 through 1×64. Package options include bare fiber (steel tube), ABS box, LGX cassette, mini plug-in module, and 1U rack-mount tray.
FBT splitters remain cost-effective for low-ratio splits (1×2 to 1×4) and wavelength-selective applications such as CATV 1310/1550 nm WDM. Every fiber optic splitter is 100% factory-tested for insertion loss, uniformity, return loss, and directivity, backed by a 25-year design life and ISO 9001 quality management.

Frequently Asked Questions
PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) splitters use waveguide chip technology for precise, uniform splitting — best for high-ratio splits (1×8 and above). FBT (Fused Biconical Taper) splitters fuse two fibers together — simpler and more cost-effective for low-ratio splits (1×2, 1×4) and wavelength-selective applications.
Bare fiber (steel tube) for splice closures and tight spaces. ABS box for wall-mount distribution boxes. LGX cassette for rack-mount patch panels. Mini plug-in module for compact ODF trays. Choose based on your installation location and access requirements.
Yes. Our PLC splitters operate across the full 1260–1650 nm window, supporting simultaneous GPON data (1310/1490 nm) and CATV video overlay (1550 nm) without the need for separate splitting stages.
A 1×8 PLC splitter has a typical insertion loss of approximately 10.5 dB (maximum 10.8 dB per ITU-T G.671). This includes the theoretical splitting loss of ~9.0 dB plus excess loss of ~1.5 dB.
Yes. We manufacture 2×4, 2×8, 2×16, 2×32, and 2×64 dual-input PLC splitters for redundant OLT architectures and protection switching applications.
