Fiber Optic Distribution BoxNetwork Distribution
Indoor and outdoor distribution boxes for FTTH/FTTB — 8 to 96 cores, pre-terminated or splice-ready.

Overview
A fiber optic distribution box — also known as an FDB or NAP (Network Access Point) — is a mid-span enclosure that distributes fibers from a feeder cable to individual drop cables serving subscribers or building floors. In FTTH and FTTB networks, the distribution box is the critical junction between the backbone distribution cable and the last-mile drop cables that reach each home or office unit.
TTI Fiber manufactures fiber optic distribution boxes in wall-mount, pole-mount, and rack-mount configurations with capacities from 8 to 96 fiber cores. Our indoor models use powder-coated cold-rolled steel or ABS plastic construction with lockable doors and integrated splice/split modules. Outdoor models feature IP65-rated UV-resistant enclosures with cable gland entries and weatherproof seals for aerial, strand-mount, and pedestal installations.
All distribution boxes are available in pre-terminated configurations (with factory-installed splitters and pigtails) or as empty enclosures for field customization. Internal components include splice trays, PLC splitter holders, adapter panels, and fiber routing guides compliant with minimum bend radius requirements. As an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, TTI Fiber provides OEM branding, custom configurations, and volume pricing for telecom operators, ISPs, and FTTH network contractors.

Why Choose TTI Fiber Fiber Optic Distribution Box
8–96 Core Capacity
Scalable enclosures from compact 8-core wall boxes for small buildings to 96-core cabinets for large FTTH distribution nodes.
IP65 Outdoor Protection
UV-resistant housings with weatherproof seals and cable glands for reliable operation in aerial, strand-mount, and pedestal installations.
Pre-Terminated Option
Factory-installed PLC splitters, pigtails, and adapters reduce field labor and ensure consistent quality. Also available as empty chassis for custom builds.
Integrated Splitter Modules
Built-in PLC splitter holders support 1×8, 1×16, and 1×32 modules, combining distribution and splitting functions in a single enclosure.
Frequently Asked Questions
A distribution box is an access point where fibers are split and distributed to drop cables — it typically includes adapters for patch cord connections. A splice closure simply protects fiber splices at cable junction points without providing user access ports. Distribution boxes are used at subscriber access points; splice closures are used at mid-span cable joints.
Yes. Most FTTH distribution boxes are designed to hold PLC splitter modules (1×8, 1×16, 1×32) internally. Pre-terminated models come with the splitter already installed and connected, reducing field installation time.
Indoor models use standard ABS or metal construction suitable for dry, temperature-controlled environments. Outdoor models add IP65-rated weatherproof enclosures, UV-resistant materials, rubber gasket seals, and cable glands to protect against rain, humidity, temperature extremes, and dust.
Count the number of subscribers (drop connections) the box will serve, then add 20-30% spare capacity for future growth. Common configurations are 16-core for small apartment buildings, 32-core for mid-size buildings, and 48-96 core for large buildings or street cabinets.
