Fiber Optic Splice ClosureSealed Protection
Dome and inline splice closures for aerial, duct, and direct burial — 12 to 288 cores, IP68 waterproof.

Overview
A fiber optic splice closure — also called a joint closure or splice enclosure — provides environmental protection for fiber splices at cable junction points in outside plant networks. Whether installed on aerial strand, inside underground ducts, or in direct-buried vaults, the splice closure must maintain a permanent watertight and airtight seal to protect delicate fusion splices from moisture, temperature extremes, and mechanical stress over decades of service.
TTI Fiber manufactures dome-type and inline (horizontal) splice closures supporting 12 to 288 fiber cores. Our dome closures feature a heat-shrink seal design that creates a permanent 360° waterproof barrier without bolts or gaskets, while our inline closures use a mechanical clamp seal for re-enterable access. All models are IP68 rated (submersible to 1.5 meters for 24 hours) and tested per IEC 61073 and GR-771 standards.
Internal splice trays are organized for ribbon or individual fiber splicing, with clear fiber routing paths, heat-shrink splice protector slots, and cable strain relief anchors. Our fiber optic splice closure models accommodate round and flat cable entries in sizes from 6 mm to 25 mm diameter. As an ISO 9001 certified factory, TTI Fiber provides OEM marking, custom configurations, and competitive bulk pricing for telecom operators, utility companies, and FTTH network builders.

Why Choose TTI Fiber Fiber Optic Splice Closure
IP68 Waterproof Rating
Tested to withstand submersion at 1.5 meters for 24 hours. Heat-shrink or mechanical seal systems ensure decades of reliable protection.
12–288 Core Capacity
From compact 12-core closures for FTTH drops to large 288-core models for backbone cable junctions, covering every network scale.
Dome & Inline Types
Dome closures for vertical-mount aerial installations; inline (horizontal) closures for duct and direct-burial applications with re-enterable access.
Re-Enterable Design
Mechanical clamp closures can be opened and resealed multiple times for network expansion, rerouting, or maintenance without replacing the seal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Dome closures have a vertical, cylindrical shape and are typically used for aerial cable joints where cables enter from the bottom. Inline (horizontal) closures have an elongated, tube-like shape and are used in duct and direct-burial installations where cables enter from both ends.
Mechanical clamp closures are designed for re-entry — simply loosen the clamp, open the closure, perform work, and reseal. Heat-shrink sealed closures require cutting the shrink sleeve and applying a new one for each re-entry.
Depending on the model, our closures have 2 to 6 cable entry ports. Each port accommodates cables from 6 mm to 25 mm in diameter using size-specific sealing grommets.
Our splice closures are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management and tested per IEC 61073 (environmental and mechanical tests for closures) and Telcordia GR-771 (generic requirements for fiber optic splice closures). All models meet IP68 ingress protection.
Some models are versatile enough for multiple installation types, but we recommend dome closures for aerial and inline closures for duct/buried. Each type is optimized for its intended mounting method, cable entry angles, and environmental exposure.
