Outdoor Fiber Optic CableBuilt to Endure

ADSS, GYXTW, GYTA, armored, and air-blown cables — 2 to 288 cores for aerial, duct, and direct burial.

Outdoor Fiber Optic Cable products by TTI Fiber

Overview

Outdoor fiber optic cables must survive where indoor cables cannot — extremes of temperature, UV exposure, moisture ingress, mechanical stress, and even rodent attack. TTI Fiber manufactures a comprehensive lineup covering every installation scenario: aerial self-supporting (ADSS), aerial figure-8, duct, direct burial, underwater, and air-blown micro-duct types, with fiber counts from 2 to 288 cores.

Our portfolio includes GYXTW (central loose tube, steel tape armored), GYTA (stranded, APL moisture barrier), GYTS (corrugated steel tape), GYTA53 (double-armored direct burial), GYFTY (non-metallic stranded), figure-8 self-supporting types (GYXTC8S, GYTC8A), ADSS (all-dielectric for power-line environments), and air-blown micro cables (GCYFXTY/GCYFTY). Specialty types including OPGW, mining cables, and anti-rodent cables are also available.

Every cable uses ITU-T G.652D single-mode fiber with low attenuation — ≤ 0.36 dB/km at 1310 nm and ≤ 0.22 dB/km at 1550 nm. As a vertically integrated outdoor fiber optic cable factory, TTI Fiber controls the entire production chain from fiber coloring to jacketing, enabling custom lengths, print marking, and fast delivery worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

For self-supporting aerial without messenger wire, use ADSS cable (all-dielectric, ideal near power lines) or figure-8 types (GYXTC8S, GYTC8A with built-in steel messenger). For lashed aerial installation to existing strand, standard GYTA or GYTS cables work well.

GYTA53 (double-armored with steel tape + steel wire) provides the best crush and rodent resistance for direct burial. For lighter-duty direct burial in protected conduit, GYTY53 is a cost-effective alternative.

Both are stranded loose tube designs, but GYTA uses an aluminum-polyethylene laminate (APL) moisture barrier, while GYTS uses corrugated steel tape armor. GYTS offers slightly better crush resistance; GYTA provides better moisture protection and is lighter weight.
