Fiber Optic PigtailSplice-Ready Tails
Pre-terminated pigtails with LC, SC, FC, ST connectors — 0.9 mm tight buffer in single mode and multimode.

Overview
A fiber optic pigtail is a short length of fiber cable with a factory-terminated connector on one end and a bare (stripped) fiber on the other, designed for fusion splicing to incoming fiber cables inside patch panels, terminal boxes, and splice trays. Pigtails eliminate the need for field polishing and ensure factory-grade connector quality at every termination point in the network.
TTI Fiber manufactures fiber optic pigtails in all standard connector types — LC, SC, FC, ST, E2000, and MU — in both UPC and APC polish grades. Our pigtails use 0.9 mm tight-buffer fiber in single-mode (OS2, G.652D) and multimode (OM1 through OM4) versions, with standard lengths of 1.0 m, 1.5 m, and 2.0 m. We also offer bundled pigtail sets (4, 8, 12, or 24 pigtails color-coded per TIA-598) for efficient patch panel loading.
Every pigtail is factory-tested for insertion loss (≤ 0.3 dB) and return loss (≥ 50 dB UPC / ≥ 60 dB APC) using calibrated reference-grade connectors. As an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, TTI Fiber provides OEM labeling, custom lengths, and bulk pricing for telecom installers, system integrators, and FTTH deployment contractors worldwide.

Why Choose TTI Fiber Fiber Optic Pigtail
Factory-Polished Connectors
Every connector is precision-polished and interferometrically inspected at the factory, ensuring consistently low insertion loss without field polishing.
Color-Coded Bundles
Pre-bundled pigtail sets in 4, 8, 12, and 24 counts with TIA-598 color coding for fast, error-free patch panel and splice tray loading.
0.9 mm Tight Buffer
Slim 0.9 mm tight-buffer construction allows easy routing through splice trays and fiber management systems with minimum bend radius.
All Connector Types
LC, SC, FC, ST, E2000, MU — in UPC and APC polish grades, single-mode and multimode. One source for every pigtail requirement.
Frequently Asked Questions
A pigtail has a connector on one end and bare fiber on the other — designed for fusion splicing. A patch cord has connectors on both ends — designed for plugging between two ports. Pigtails are used inside enclosures to terminate incoming cables; patch cords are used for external connections.
Standard lengths are 1.0 m, 1.5 m, and 2.0 m. Choose a length that provides enough slack for routing through the splice tray and fiber management system without excessive coiling. 1.5 m is the most common choice for standard patch panels.
Standard pigtails have individual fibers and are designed for individual fusion splicing. For ribbon fiber cables, use ribbon pigtails (12-fiber ribbon format) that can be mass-spliced in a single operation using a ribbon fusion splicer.
0.9 mm pigtails use tight-buffer fiber only — they are thinner and more flexible, ideal for routing inside splice trays. 2.0 mm and 3.0 mm pigtails add a protective jacket layer, making them more rugged but less flexible. Most installations use 0.9 mm pigtails.
